The Boundless Bible
The Boundless Bible is a podcast dedicated to discussing the many layers and perspectives the Bible offers to those interested in deepening their views and understanding.
Hosted by three friends from very different walks of life and life experiences, who've come together through curiosity of, and respect for, the living Word.
Our hosts are:
- DAVID SHAPIRO -- was born an Orthodox Jew, later an atheist, ex-military and MMA fighter, David heeded the call to Jesus and is now an ordained Pastor, specializing in Apologetics.
- JAVIER MARQUEZ -- Originally from Brooklyn, moved to LA to be an actor, and deeply found the Lord which led him to work in the church, lead Bible studies and grow his faith.
- JASON HOLLOWAY -- grew up in the church, left in college, and spent the next 2 decades immersed in learning world religion, spirituality, science, and mythology, recently returning to the Faith with renewed insight and perspective.
After a year of weekly discussions, we came to find that sharing and debating their different perspectives had become an exciting way to introduce new ideas to old thinking, grow their understanding, and strengthen their faith.
We are aware that there are many people out there who feel their questions haven't been answered, whose curiosity has been tamped down, or who just generally feel their community doesn't allow open dialogue, and our goal is to give those people a place to listen, ask questions, and engage with their curiosity to find a deeper and more robust connection to their faith.

QUICK Qs: What Do You Listen To In The Car?
Ever wonder what plays through someone else's speakers during those long drives? Our conversation takes a fascinating detour into the audio preferences that accompany us on life's journeys.
The simple question "Do you listen to sermons, podcasts, or worship music in the car?" sparked revealing insights about how we process information and what we value. Jason immediately pointed out the missing option—audiobooks—his longtime companion for technical learning while on the move. His dual passion for knowledge acquisition and worship music represents the perfect harmony between intellectual curiosity and spiritual nourishment.
David's story about subjecting his college-bound son to nine consecutive hours of John Lennox lectures during their cross-country drive had us all laughing in recognition. These parental audio "tortures" can become surprisingly influential, as another host shared how his father's oldies-only policy during childhood road trips eventually transformed his musical taste as an adult. These moments highlight the subtle yet powerful ways fathers shape their children's perspectives, even through something as seemingly insignificant as car audio choices.
Our discussion revealed how our listening patterns adapt to different circumstances—shorter drives might call for music, while longer journeys open space for deeper engagement with audiobooks or sermons. Podcasts have become increasingly popular among us, partly due to their digestible length and diverse content options. The tension between feeling obligated to finish what we start versus embracing shorter content formats reflects broader approaches to information consumption in today's content-saturated world.
What plays through your car speakers? Share your road trip soundtrack preferences and join our conversation about how these choices reflect who we are and what we value on life's journey.

Quick questions with David. Sorry, guys, all right, all right guys. We have more questions. We have far more questions than we have. Tonality yes.
Speaker 3:So let's ask a question. All right, In a car, do you listen to sermons, podcasts or worship music the most?
Speaker 2:You left one out you left out audiobooks you left out audiobooks.
Speaker 3:Yes, obviously I do not listen to audiobooks in cars, so yes, I did leave that out. That won't be my answer.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm a combination of all of them. I just couldn't let you get by without the audiobooks, especially the big, really gigantic ones. So I do love, I do love an audio book. I love learning the technicals of things, obviously, and what better way to do it than when you're driving? So I'm I'm, an audio book fanatic, but I'm also, you all know, I'm a music fanatic, so it's worship music all the time, but if I'm not listening to a worship music, I'm definitely listening to an audio book. Nice, All right, nice For me, I mean listening to.
Speaker 3:oh, I got you first. Ha ha, I beat you.
Speaker 2:Ooh, he was ready.
Speaker 3:I was For me. I listened to actually a lot of keynote speeches from universities, from key apologists, whether it's William Lane, craig, john Lennox, frank Turek. I listened to a lot of those just keynote speeches where they're talking about a topic in the Bible and I will listen to. I remember actually driving my son to college. We live in South Florida, he goes to college north of Pittsburgh, so you're talking about an 18 to 20 hour drive and half of it I was listening to John Lennox and my son was like of it. I was listening to John Lennox and my son was like how do you understand what he's saying? He is very uh, he gets very deep, he's he's brilliant. But that's why I enjoy him literally for probably nine hours is what I listened to.
Speaker 2:And your son was going. Can you just put anything else in the world on Like, could you? Could you put two dryers with coins inside them on for the next nine hours, please, oh man.
Speaker 1:That reminds me when I used to drive with my dad from New York to Florida and like he would play all the oldies and at the time I was a big hip hop head and I was like what are you? Are you killing me, dad? And he's like he'll let me listen to the radio for like one hour of all that time and I love it. Now I absolutely love oldies and all different type of musics because of him. Yeah.
Speaker 2:But we have influence as fathers.
Speaker 1:Yeah, fathers are great. I would say for me it's just like you, jason is a combination of things. I think it all depends what's happening in my life or what's happening for the road. Right, if I'm going on a longer road trip, it might be an audio book, it might be a sermon. That's a little bit longer I'm able to digest it and I have a longer drive, Shorter drives. It will be maybe some music, worship music or just any type of music, but lately for me, the heavy one.
Speaker 1:I think, if I look back, it would be podcasts. Podcasts are big just because we started our podcast, but also it's just different variation of podcasts, right, and it's a short live, short nugget for the day or for the time. So I think podcast has been something that's really heavy listening right now.
Speaker 2:It's definitely growing with me too. Mean, I'm I've, I've been, I've been hardcore audiobooks for probably 15 years now. So I do love podcasts, but, like my other problems are so many podcasts I know that that you don't know which ones to listen to, and when I get into one, I'm gonna sit there and listen to 50 or 100 of them. So it's like it better be good. So I just don't know what to get into. But yeah, there's so many ways to learn.
Speaker 1:I'm the type of guy that if I said if I'm going to start it, I'm going to finish it, so podcasting me. I'm able to just go all right, I'll finish it, but it's going to be done in 10 minutes or whatever it is, or I could skip it without having to know that I missed so much where something else bigger. I'm like, ah, I gotta sit down, I gotta finish this, I gotta you never know, it turns back around and I might like it, but yeah yeah, that that is what happened, guys.
Speaker 2:So, guys, again, we learn something new every day and every week. So thanks for your time, thanks for your consideration. We'll see you next week bye.
